While entering the vehicle, the seat belt tensioner cable may be positioned such that the driver slides over it. This movement may result in the fatigue and separation of the cable.

Consequence Summary If the tensioner cable separates, the driver may not be properly restrained in the event of a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

Corrective Summary GM will notify owners, and dealers will modify the vehicles to prevent the tensioner from being damaged.
